"Shrek 2." Wow, what else can I say? While not as great as
the first film, It is nearly as good. The animation is better,
and I felt it was just as funny! The only weakness was the story,
but that's nit-picking. I loved this movie! All the best characters
have returned, aside from the main characters (Shrek = Mike Myers
Fiona = Cameron Dias & Donkey = Eddie Murphy) we see Gingerbread
Man, The Wolf und das 3 Pigs, yah! and Dragon with a few surprises
(if you stay through the credits!) John Cleese is perfect as Fiona's
father the King, and Julie Andrews is her Queen Mum. The best new
entry, hands-down is: Puss N' Boots!
Antonio Banderas is inspired as the voice of the ogre-slaying cat.
Jennifer Saunders (of Ab-Fab fame) is wonderful as the Fairy
Godmother (and does a nice cover of "I Need A Hero" by
Bonnie Tyler) The music is great, and when a Piano-playing Pirate
with a "Hook" for one hand croons with the voice of Tom Waits, I
lost it! A near perfect theater experience for both kids and adults.
Get thee to a theater "Far Far Away!"
